As YouthForesight members, you are invited to participate in the (second) upcoming virtual focus group session for youth networks to be held on Wednesday, 28 May 2025, from 8:00 to 9:30 AM (New York Time).
This builds on the first focus group session on the investment platform that took place in an in-person format in New York during the ECOSOC Youth Forum Youth Blast on 14 April. These sessions are part of the wider stakeholder engagement process being done by the task force that comprises inter alia mapping-survey, focus group sessions and expert interviews.

This session is part of a series of consultations aimed at gathering direct input from young people to inform the design of the Global Youth Investment Platform (GIYP)—a potential mechanism that will tend to mobilize public and private investment in youth development globally. We aspire for this platform to align funding needs with the real priorities of youth, particularly in the areas of education, employment, and empowerment.
📍 During this 90-minute session, participants will:
Receive an overview of the Pact for the Future implementation process;
Explore the initial concept of the Global Youth Investment Platform and review findings from the global youth investment survey led by the task force;
Engage in a facilitated discussion to identify barriers, opportunities, and youth priorities for investment.
✏️ Some key discussion questions will include:
What are the main financial or resource challenges you face in launching or expanding youth-led initiatives?
What forms of support (e.g., grants, loans, mentorship, blended finance) are most helpful and why?
How can the platform ensure inclusion of marginalized youth (e.g., rural youth, refugees, young women)?
What role should young people play in the design, governance, and accountability of the platform?
What lessons can be drawn from existing youth-focused investment programs in your community or region?
This session offers a unique opportunity for youth stakeholders to shape a global mechanism that seeks to deliver tangible, long-term impact. Your insights will directly contribute to ensuring that the platform reflects the diverse realities and aspirations of young people worldwide.
