Reflection Workshop: Labour Economics Conference 2025 - Cambodia

The Labour Economics Conference Cambodia – Reflections Workshop brought together over 200 policymakers, researchers, trade unionists, development partners, and youth employment practitioners for a structured dialogue on Cambodia's most pressing labour market priorities. Organised by YouthForesight in partnership with ILO, the online workshop used facilitated breakout rooms to deepen discussion across three thematic areas — migration, skills and employability, and social protection — translating research into concrete priority actions. Key outcomes included calls for recognition of prior learning for returning migrant workers, reskilling and upskilling programmes aligned with employer needs, and expanded social protection coverage for youth in informal employment. The workshop reflected a shared commitment to moving from policy dialogue to practical implementation — and to placing Cambodian workers, especially the young and vulnerable, at the centre of the country's economic future.
