The COVID-19 pandemic undoubtfully accelerated the pre-existing trends towards greater digitalization of the economy, offering a considerable potential to promote further youth employment opportunities through digitally enabled jobs (DEJ). To promote decent jobs for and with youth, partners across sectors are accelerating efforts.

VSO through the Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE) designed the Youth Decent Work Journey (YDW Journey), a tool to help businesses in recruiting, selecting, and retaining young talent. CFYE also took up on youth-led research on DEJ in Kenya to ensure the youth understanding, experience and perspectives on digitally enabled jobs are complimenting the efforts. At the same time, as one of the enablers to promote employment opportunities in digital economy, jobtech is playing an instrumental role in connecting youth with jobs and livelihood opportunities. This is evident through growing number of platforms globally.

The webinar highlights unique initiatives and shares best practices and lessons learned to strengthen evidence-based actions for skills development and decent jobs for and with youth in the digital economy.
